**Abstract:**This course will introduce the basic concepts of representations of Lie groups and Lie algebras. These are ubiquitous in high energy physics as much of the standard model is governed by symmetries. Material covered includes: From Lie groups to Lie algebras; structure theory of Lie algebras; roots and weights; highest weight representations; character formulas; tensor products and branching; Young tableaux.
