Abstract: I will discuss Kummer's proof (19th century) of Fermat's Last Theorem (FLT) for regular prime exponents. I will start by presenting some very special cases of FLT (exponents 3 and 4). Afterwards, I will introduce the necessary theoretical material to prove Kummer's Theorem such as: algebraic properties of the ring of cyclotomic integers, ideal class groups and regular primes.
